The Company philosophy is simple and straightforward: great attention to how the land is cultivated and how the vineyards are managed with rigorous and frequent inspections (both qualitative – visual- as quantitative - analytical), in order to bring to the winery the best and healthiest fruit to be transformed into wine in the simplest and most natural way possible. This farming is the way to allow fully express the territory and its characteristics. Ronco dei Tassi was started as a family owned and run estate and continues as such with the sons Matteo and Enrico joining the business. The estate has also grown in size. Today it counts over 30 hectares (75 acres) of which 18 (45 acres) are planted to vines with the rest being left as forested land. The name of the estate comes from the way the vineyard have been planted, using terracing (ronchi) to expose the rows to the maximum amount of sunlight, and to a local peculiarity namely the bands of badgers (tassi) that visit our property without fail at the time of harvest enjoying our sweetest and most succulent grapes.
