Ruvo di Puglia (Bari)
Mazzone’s story has been made of two main ingredients: the family and their passion for theie land. It all started in the '70s, when Domenico, father of Francesco, Giuseppe and Massimo inherited from his father small and selected plots of land in the countryside of Ruvo. Vineyards, orchards and olive groves, which led to the establishment of this company. The company took shape after Francesco, the eldest son, obtained his degree in wine making from the University of Ancona. The construction of the underground cellar, the construction of new and modern vineyard facilities, the purchase of the first casks and French oak barrels from Garbellotto company, the gleaming steel tanks for winemaking, were the first real steps towards the new life. Mazzone’s winery is located in Ruvo di Puglia (Bari), in the Apulian inland surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The whole family works in the vineyard throughout the cycle. Every year the family collects the grapes from their vineyards, about 100 tons of grapes, including varieties like Nero di Troia, Malvasia Bianca, Bombino bianco etc. And every year, they bottle and refine about 70,000 bottles in the underground cellars, to be distributed nationally and internationally. The family is fully committed with the promotion of their country and for the sustainability of their productions to minimize the human impact on wines. They like to share their passion with anyone fascinated by the world of wines. For this reason, their doors are always opened for winelovers..
